Apostolates and Activities
Benedictines of Saint Vincent Archabbey serve in a wide range of apostolates.
They staff Saint Vincent parish and a number of parishes in western
Pennsylvania, in Virginia and Maryland, and the Penn State Catholic Center in
State College. They serve priories in Georgia, Taiwan and Brazil.
They play an integral role at the Latrobe campus of Saint Vincent Seminary and
Saint Vincent College.
Service at the Archabbey involves a great variety of work, ranging from teaching and administration at the Seminary and College, ministering at area hospitals and prisons, directing retreats, study, research and writing.
The creative talents of the Benedictines of Saint Vincent Archabbey are evident in their artwork, which ranges from designing mosaics, working on stained glass, weaving, photography and painting; ad music, in their recordings, concerts and at liturgical celebrations.
Even with the wide range of activities, ministries and talents every monk brings to the Monastic community, each shares the same goal: to follow Christ.
